Lab Manager

Kelsey Pagorek

Kelsey is an undergraduate from Wheaton, Illinois and has been with the lab since 2014. She is majoring Neuroscience with minors in Cognitive Science, Pharmacology and Toxicology, and French. After graduating from MSU, Kelsey plans to attend graduate school for neuropharmacology in order to pursue a career in research. Outside of her academic interests, she enjoys singing, social dancing, and hanging out with friends.

Michelle Stepan

Michelle is a graduate student in the Sleep and Learning Lab. She received her B.S. in Psychology and English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013. Between her undergraduate and graduation education, she worked in Carnegie Mellon University's Memory Lab. Broadly, she is interested in sleep dependent memory consolidation. More specially, her research interests include looking at the impact of sleep on false memory formation. Currently, she is working on a study investigating factors that impact eyewitness memory.

Alison Day

Alison is a graduate student in the Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience program. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD in 2016. Her interests include learning, memory, and sleep as well as how each relies on and is impacted by the others. In her free time she enjoys reading, attending musical productions, and doing crafts.

Elle Delgrosso

Elle is a first-year graduate student to MSU's Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience program. She recently graduated from MSU with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Cognitive Science while working as Research Assistant in Dr. Susan Ravizza's Cognitive Control Neurolab. Elle is interested in researching topics concerning false memory and the mechanisms behind the storage and retrieval of memories created during a dream state.

Madeline Bross

Madeline is an undergraduate student from Royal Oak, Michigan. She is interested in studying Neuroscience and Psychology with a concentration in Cognitive Science. As her first year in a professional lab setting, she is excited to expand her interests by exploring different types of research. In her free time, Madeline enjoys rock climbing as well as singing and listening to music.

RaKyrha Chatman

RaKyrha is an undergraduate Psychology major from Detroit, Michigan. She joined the lab in Spring 2017. She hopes to attend medical school after she graduates in May 2019. Where she will further pursue becoming a Psychiatrist. She is an active member of both Pretty Brown Girls Club, Women of Distinction and Psychology Club at MSU. RaKyrha is interested in the complexity of cognitive psychology and is excited to learn more in the area. In her free time, RaKyrha enjoys drawing, being involved in many organizations, listening to music, shopping, traveling, and hanging with friends and family.

Praneet Dara

Praneet is an undergraduate student from Palatine IL (suburbs of Chicago) studying neuroscience in Lyman Briggs. After graduating in 2021 he hopes to attend medical school. Currently he is hoping to expand his interests in memory, sleep, and neuroscience research. In his free time he likes to play basketball and tennis with his friends and spend time with his family.

Nataly Dawood

Nataly is an undergraduate from Farmington Hills, Michigan. She is majoring in cognitive neuroscience and joined the lab in Spring of 2017. After graduating in 2020, she hopes to attend medical school and become a physician. Nataly hopes to gain experience in a lab setting and thinks the connections between everyday habits and memory consolidation are fascinating. In her free time, she likes to watch movies, spend time with friends and family, take naps, and pick up the occasional shift at Sparty’s.

Sunny is an undergraduate Human Biology major with a minor in Bioethics from Lake Orion, MI. Sunny plans on attending medical school after finishing undergrad. He enjoys taking photos and reading in his free time. He is excited to see what this lab has to offer in terms of expanding his knowledge and interests.

Ritika Golecha

Ritika is an undergraduate student pursing a major in Human Biology as well as a minor in Bioethics and Humanities from Shelby Township, MI. Ritika joined the lab in January 2017 and is expected to graduate in 2019. She hopes to pursue a career in the medical field upon graduation. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies include dancing, golfing, playing the piano and traveling.

Mari Dowling

Mari is an undergraduate student studying neuroscience through Lyman Briggs from Troy, Michigan. She joined the lab in 2016 and expects to graduate in 2020, hopefully with a bit more of an idea of what she wants to do for a career. In her free time, Mari enjoys taking naps with her cat, as well as playing the flute and oboe.

Claudia Fuderer

Claudia, who joined the lab in fall of 2016, is an undergraduate student studying Behavioral Neuroscience within the College of Lyman Briggs at Michigan State. After graduating in 2018, she plans on attending medical school. She is very interested in sleep and memory and is excited to be learning more through the lab. She is also a member of the Club Tennis team here at MSU. In her free time she enjoys being with her friends and family, staying active, and playing the piano.

Parul Gupta

Parul is entering her third year as an undergraduate student at Michigan State University. She is pursuing a double major in Psychology and Human Biology. She aspires to go to medical school after she graduates in May of 2018. She is also a member of the Osteopathic Medical Scholars Program at MSU. She is very interested in sleep, memory, and learning research and is excited to learn more about the topic. In her free time, she enjoys working out, spending time with her family and friends, and actively volunteering around her community.

Briana Henderson

Briana is an undergraduate student from Lansing, Michigan. She is majoring in Human Biology with a minor in Global Public Health and Epidemiology and plans to graduate in 2019/2020. She aspires to be a Physician Assistant. Her research interest includes learning more about memory and its relation to sleep. In her free time, she enjoys playing and watching sports, cooking and traveling to new places!

Azza Kineish

Azza is an undergraduate student majoring in human biology with the college of Lyman Briggs here at Michigan State University. After graduating in the year of 2018, she plans on attending medical school and becoming a physician. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as volunteering and getting involved with student organizations.

Sravya, an undergraduate student with a major in Cognitive Neuroscience, joined the lab in 2016 and is from Bloomfield Hills, MI. She is an Osteopathic Medical Scholar, and plans on attending Medical School after her graduation in 2019. Sravya is an active participant in MSU's South Asian Acappella team, Spartan Sur, as well as in the Coalition of Indian Undergraduate Students. In her free time she is an avid reader, enjoys volunteering at hospitals and tutoring centers, singing, dancing, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Islam Said

Islam is an undergraduate Physiology student from Livonia, Michigan. He hopes to attend medical school after he graduates from Michigan State University in 2019. He graduated from Yew Chung International High School in China, where he studied for five years. He currently studies at MSU's Lyman Briggs College of Science, and is a committee member on the largest student run volunteering organization on campus- Spartans Rebuilding Michigan. Islam joined the lab in 2016, and aside from his work, enjoys reading fantasy, participating in the archery club and staying active with long distance running.

Adam Shuff

Adam is an undergraduate student from West Branch, Michigan. He is studying Clinical Psychology at Michigan State University with a Pre-Med focus. He plans on graduating in 2019, and furthering his career in medical school to eventually become a Psychiatrist. In his free time he enjoys working out, hiking/exploring, snowboarding, skateboarding and spending genuine time with family and friends.

Riti Singh

Riti is a second-year undergraduate Neuroscience major from Troy, Michigan. She plans on graduating in 2019 and continuing her education within the medical field. This will be her first year working in the Sleep and Learning Lab. Riti likes to read, travel, and dance in her free time.

Virginia Smith

Gen is an undergraduate student majoring in neuroscience and physics. She joined the lab in fall 2015 and expects to graduate in 2019. Her research interests involve the connection bewteen the brain and the mind. She has aspirations to become a reseacher and a professor. In her free time, Virginia likes to spend time with friends and stay active by riding her bike.

Madison Valentine

Madison is an undergraduate student who joined the Sleep and Learning Lab in the fall of 2016. She is majoring in Cognitive Neuroscience in Lyman Briggs College of Science and plans to attend Occupational Therapy school after graduating in 2018. She is a member of MSU's Dance Marathon and a volunteer for the Cassie Hines Shoes Cancer Foundation. In her free time she enjoys cooking, staying active, and spending time with friends and family.

Chrismaria William is a Neuroscience and Spanish double major and is expected to graduate in 2021 from Michigan State University. She aspires to be a neurosurgeon or a neuroscientist in the future and hopes she can participate in disorders such as Alzheimer's and dementia. In her free time, Chrismaria likes to play tennis and golf.
